About The Scavenger Hunt Apps Foundation

The Scavenger Hunt Apps Foundation publishes independent research. Comparisons are criteria-led and are not paid placements.

Mission

The Scavenger Hunt Apps Foundation is an independent industry resource for organizers, educators, and facilitators who need to compare scavenger hunt software. We publish criteria, directories, and research—not a storefront for any one vendor.

Independence

Comparisons are criteria-led. They are not paid placements. PlayTours is listed as one peer among Goosechase, Scavify, Actionbound, Let’s Roam, and others. Some contributors may work in the industry; see our disclosure. Primary calls to action on this site are Foundation actions: browse the directory, read the checklist, compare criteria.

Inclusion criteria

We aim to list every publicly documented scavenger hunt product that: (1) lets an organizer run a hunt or mission-based activity, (2) has a public website with enough product detail to fill a profile, and (3) is not solely a generic quiz or form tool. Inclusion is not an endorsement and is not a “top rated” medal.

How we work

Ranked or comparative pages use a published methodology with dated evidence. Suggest a missing app or a correction via Contact. We do not sell software or book events from this site.

Who this is for

HR and L&D, teachers, visitor-experience teams, community organizers, and journalists who need a neutral map of the category. If you need vendor support, use the help links on each app’s own site.
